Training & Assessing

Apple Training Academy offers three flexible, affordable teaching courses.

Our courses give you the skills you need to train your workforce or other students, assess the vocational competency of your staff, and internally moderate the performance of teaching assessors.

We cater for all experience levels:

  • Level 3 Education & Training (previously PTLLS) is the starter teaching course. It enables you to train your own staff in-house, or train students in colleges.
  • Level 3 TAQA (The Assessing Quality Assessment) used to be known as the A1 Assessor Award. It teaches you to assess students’ performance in vocational qualifications.
  • Level 4 IQA (Assuring Quality Assessment) used to be known as the V1 Award. It lets you moderate the performance of assessors.

Level 3 Education & Training (previously PTLLS) Course

Our Level 3 Award In Education and Training (previously PTLLS) will enable you to deliver workplace training in the areas of your expertise.

Gaining this qualification can also help a candidate towards achieving their Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). It’s an accredited teaching qualification.

Our workshop-based E&T course is delivered as a one-day classroom-based course, and a series of long-distance learning activities, so you can learn around your current day-to-day work commitments.  Alternatively, we deliver this over e-portfolio with on-line course delivery observation.

This qualification will enable you to deliver in-house training or train for colleges and private training providers in your area of competency.

TAQA Courses – The Assessing Quality Assessment (previously A1 Award)

The Level 3 Assessing the Quality of Assessment (NVQ) TAQA course will enable you to assess the occupational competency of staff in the workplace.

Its three units consist of practical assessments and long-distance learning assessments, so, you don’t have to worry about making it to lectures on a daily basis.

This qualification will enable you to assess students’ performance in vocational qualifications in your area of competency.

IQA Courses – Assuring Quality Assessment (previously V1 Award)

When you take our QCF (Qualification and Credit Framework) Level 4 Assuring the Quality of Assessment IQA teaching course, you’ll develop the skills needed to provide quality assurance, and to moderate assessments and assessors.

This teaching course is split into two units, consisting of practical assessments and knowledge sharing with colleagues and peers.

In order to sit this course you’ll need to have completed your TAQA qualification.
