Course DetailsActive Living Awareness – Short Course Overview Active Living is a special variant of services delivered to a person in their own home. It is generally provided for people with learning disabilities, and is characterised by a focus on normalisation, support as opposed to care, and a planned approach to the service user developing their independence. This is part of our health and social care training and develops delegates understanding of codes of practice and person centre approach to care. This course is delivered in the workplace to groups of up to 15 learners. Length of Course: 6 hours Objectives – At the end of the lesson delegate will be able to understand: * The differences – Care and Supportive Living * History of care and support services * Traditional care in hospitals * Care in the Community * Medical & Social Model of support/care * Code of Practice for Social Care workers * Person-Centred Care * Structures, Systems and Responsibilities * Models of caring * 9 Standards of supportive living * Codes of practice * Models of Care * Principles of Normalisation * Personalisation On successful completion of this course, delegates will be provided with a certificate of competency. Course Prerequisites: Candidates must be 16 years or above and working in supported living environments.
